Zombie Munny Contest Winner! Jim Abbott
Congratulations to Scrapunzel1 for her great suggestion of Jim Abbott, the great one-handed MLB pitcher.
There were a lot of great ideas: George Takei, Pig Farmer, Davy Jones the Pirate, Rick Allen of Def Leppard , and Sherlock Holmes.
It was a close call between Abbott, Davy Jones and Rick Allen. Davy Jones would have been great with his squid head but I didn’t feel confident enough with my skill to give him a peg leg. That left Abbott and Allen and what it came down to was Abbott was missing the same arm/hand my Munny was missing and Rick Allen wasn’t.
So here is the Munny.

Free Zombie Munny Give-Away!
Tragedy has struck.
One of my Mini-Munnys arms has broken off.
I don’t feel right about just gluing it back on and selling it.
So it seems like a good idea to make it part of a give away contest.
A zombie give away.
Rules are simple: Comment on my blog about what kind of Zombie I should turn my one-armed Munny into i.e movie characters or anything clever. If I like your suggestion I will make the Munny and give it to you free.
Accessorize: I also have these three awesome accessories if that helps you come up any good ideas.
School ends May 15th and I will make my decision then. You will receive the Munny by the end of May.

Sculpture: Capt. Spaulding Fan Art Munny
Capt. Spaulding is easily the most evil clown in movies. Here is a little sculpture made with the Mini Munny figures sold by KidRobot.

Painting: Orc Shaman
Putting together a fantasy art portfolio. This is my first piece: Orc Shaman.

Sculpture: Red Devil, my first Munny.
Munnys are small vinyl figures for customizing created by kidrobot. Here is one way to customize them.
1) As you can see Munnys are a blank white sculpture.
2) You can add clay to add features to the Munny. Super Sculpey clay works amazingly. After you add the clay baked the figure for about 15 minutes at 200 degrees fahrenheit.
3) For painting the Munny it helps to remove the arms and head. Priming them with a layer of dark paint is good for sinister characters.
4) Drybrush acrylic paint for a gritty look.
5) Ink works really well to add details.
6) Spray with a fixitive to protect your art.

Painting: Close But No Cigar
I didn’t win any awards at the Student Juried Art Show. I made it in though. There were dozens of submissions and my painting was one of the the four paintings selected for the show.

Here are my other paintings in the Pima College West Campus student gallery at school. I am very happy my art is hanging somewhere people can see it but still a little bummed I didn’t win an award.
This is still a major victory! I’ll be even more ready for the next one.
